"Why the Mission Needs the Marks"

It is common today to set "mission" and "church" against one another as if somehow the mission that Christ and the church he established are somehow at odds. This is not so. As counter-intuitive as it may seem, the reality is that Christ gave the mission to the church with all its inefficiency. He instituted both and he intends for that institution to prosecute that mission. Therefore it is essential that we know what the church is and what the mission is in order to know how they relate to one another.
